You can capture as much real time data as you have free disk space and then analysis it all off line. They also make a version for PDA’s but I don’t believe that it would be as useful.

What is will do for you is allow you to access every sensor and command every control point in every module of your vehicle using a Windows notebook computer, including Freeze Frame and Mode 6 data. This is not an inexpensive toy nor is it a programmer or the equivalent of a GM Scan tool. Apparently, the Duramax ECM CAN D interface is NOT very OBDII compliant and it took the Auto Enginuity folks a while to work out the software kinks, during which time their customer support was first rate. When going for performance TDCO setting of -1.94 you may be slightly higher than 3.5 deg avg when in base timing check (which is okay), in the timing FAQ where I say check base timing 1st, it is only to get you to a baseline standard starting point, same as what you would do with a new IP or timing chain swap out. When you come out of tool commanded time set, engine actual & desired will come to what the PCM is requiring to maintain load requested. In base timing check (scan tool required) one commands timing set with that command desired timing at idle goes to 0, actual timing if correct averages 3.5 degrees, if you don't get that timing then you shutdown then move the IP to achive this setting, when 3.5 avg timing is achieved then you should also be in factory window TDCO of -.25 to -.75. TDCO is totally separate from base timing. Roughly TDCO (top dead center offset) is a bias added to timing from PCM, based on several parameters PCM looks at to optimize timing for given load Use the search tool alot of discussion here with regard to TDCO Timing and its adjustment.
